• The competition may include categories such as General Coding, Specialty Coding, Advanced Coding

b. Focus Area

• Participants will demonstrate their product to support clinical coding process.
• Participants use a classification system according to that implemented in their respective countries.

c. Format

• Online submission and final presentation.

d. Evaluation Process

• Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges including experts in medical coding and health informatics.

e. Innovation and Creativity

• Competition can drive innovation by encouraging participants to explore and apply new coding tools, technologies, and techniques or methods.
• Insight gained from the contest can inform improvements in coding practices and educational programs.

f. Impact on Healthcare

• Accurate Data: High-quality coding contributes to accurate health data, which is crucial for patient care, research, and healthcare policy making.
• Efficient Claims Processing: Acuurate coding reduce claim rejections and denials, leading to more efficient billing and reimbursement processes.

3. Submission

• Applicants have to submit their product or technology idea to support clinical coding process before the 31st October 2024 and only three teams will be short listed for the final round.

4. Registration

• Teams must register for the competition by the 31st October 2024. A 100 USD registration fee per team should be paid upon registration.
• Provide Team members names, contact information, Organization/ University, and a brief proposal of the proposed healthcare innovation challenge.

5. Judging Criteria

• Final three submissions will be evaluated based on accuracy, compliance with coding rules and thoroughness.

• Feasibility of Implementation (10%)
• Scalability and Sustainability (10%)
• Judges may also consider the scalability and sustainability of the proposed health care technology.

6. Prizes

• Cash prizes include recognition, certificates, and potential exposure to industry professionals.
• First three places will be selected from each competition and the prizes will be arranged as below:
  • 1^st Place: 200 USD
  • 2^nd Place: 150 USD
  • 3^rd Place: 100 USD

7. Code of Conduct

• Participants must adhere to ethical guidelines and respect intellectual property rights throughout the competition.
• Plagiarism or unauthorized use of existing solutions will result in disqualification.
