1. Eligibility Criteria

a. Participant Status

  • Participants must be curently enrolled as students in a educational institution at the time of registration.
  • Both undergraduate and graduate students from various disciplines, including technology, healthcare, engineering, and business, are eligible to participate.

b. Team Composition

  • Teams may consist of 3 members.
  • Interdisciplinary teams with participants from various medical specialties or healthcare fields are encouraged.

c. Focus Area

  • Proposed healthcare technology ideas or prototypes must address current health challenges.
  • Challenges can range from diagnostics and treatment to patient engagement, wellness monitoring, or any other relevant healthcare domain.

d. Innovation and Creativity

  • Emphasize innovation and creativity in the healthcare technology solution.
  • Explore novel approaches, technologies, or applications that set the proposal apart from existing solutions.

e. Feasibility and Implementation

  • Clearly outline the feasibility of implementing the proposed healthcare technology.
  • Address potential challenges and provide realistic strategies for overcoming obstacles during development and deployment.

f. Impact on Healthcare

  • Articulate the potential impact of the proposed technology on healthcare outcomes.
  • Demonstrate how the technology addresses a specific health challenge and contributes to positive outcomes for individuals or the healthcare system.

g. Prototype or Concept Presentation

  • Submissions may include either a prototype or a detailed concept presentation.
  • Prototypes should showcase the functionality of the proposed healthcare technology, while concept presentations should provide a comprehensive overview of the idea.

h. Usability and User Experience

  • Prioritize user-centric design and usability in the healthcare technology solution.
  • Consider the ease of use for both healthcare professionals and end-users, promoting a positive user experience.

2. Submission

  • Applicants have to submit their healthcare technology idea on or before the 31st October 2024 and only three teams will be short listed for the final round.

3. Registration

  • Teams must register for the competition by the 31st October 2024. A 100 USD registration fee per team should be paid upon registration.
  • Provide Team members names, contact information, Organization/ University, and a brief proposal of the proposed healthcare innovation challenge.

4. Presentation Skills

  • Three teams will be selected for the final rounds and they have to present their healthcare technology idea or prototype to a panel of judges.
  • Presentations should cover the problem statement, solution overview, technical details, potential impact, and a plan for further development.

5. Judging Criteria

  • Final three submissions will be evaluated based on innovation, feasibility, impact, usability, presentation skills, and the potential for implementation.

    • Creativity and Innovation (20%)
    • Usability (20%)
    • Functionality (20%)
    • Potential Impact (20%)
    • Feasibility of Implementation (10%)
    • Scalability and Sustainability (10%)
  • Judges may also consider the scalability and sustainability of the proposed health care technology.

6. Prizes

  • Cash prizes include recognition, certificates, and potential exposure to industry professionals.
  • First three places will be selected from each competition and the prizes will be arranged as below:
    • 1st Place: 200 USD
    • 2nd Place: 150 USD
    • 3rd Place: 100 USD
